The Blog has been MISSING! My apologies people, we should be back & fully operational/updated this week.
Here is a quick summary for the last few weeks, a more detailed summary will follow.
- Vocabulary: YES you have it. I will post lists #10-12 soon. You should be caught up.
- Matter & Chemical Change unit: We have finished sections 1.0 to 3.0.
- You have written 2 TWO quizzes. How did you do? What can you do better?
- Did you hand in your periodic groups project?
- Did you get ALL of the notes that were given in class?
- Have you handed in all of your assignments for this unit to Mr. Feller? You have until WEDNESDAY to get them all in. After that you are playing roulette. I will NOT mark any of this work, so please get it in to him. ASK him if you are missing any assignments, this is YOUR responsibility.......he does not have the time to chase you down.
- Here are a few of the CONCEPTS you should understand about chemistry:
- history of the atom
- current accepted model of the atom
- protons, neutrons, nucleus, electrons
- how to read a periodic table: atomic number, atomic mass, figuring out numbers of protons, neutrons, electrons, ion charges, characteristics of elements
- MOLECULAR COMPOUNDS: characteristics/properties, how to NAME them properly, how to write formulas properly.
- IONIC COMPOUNDS: characteristics/properties, how to NAME them properly, how to write a formula properly how to BALANCE the CHARGE to ZERO.
If you do not understand any of the above concepts please ASK!
Parent-Student-Teacher interviews. It was great to see so many of you. I'm glad that we have some goals set for next term.

Remember to REVIEW for at LEAST 10 minutes EVERY night. It will help make you a good independent learner!
